Indian Railway is the lifeline of our country India. We are always curious to know about the Rail Budget. In this year, the railway minister Mr. Dinesh Trivedi has read out the budget in the parliament and announced 5 major priorities for the Indian Railway. But the mango people get disappointed as he has increased the fare to travel.
The main points are:

1. The independent rail safety authority to be set up by the railway.
2. The railway would set up a target of zero death.
3. Unnamed railway crossings will be abolished in next five years.
4. Indian Railway will get modernized in future.
5. 19,000 km track will get upgraded in the next five years.
6. Railway will increase the speed of the trains in five years.
7. 45 new routes to be introduced.
8. Trains' speed limit will be set up at 160 kmph.
9. 700 km new rail lines to be added in 2012-13.
10. 1000 new railway stations to be set up.
11. Waiting passengers gets alternate train reservations.
12. 1 lakh new recruitment will be announced soon.
13. Fare hike: 10 paise/km for AC class.
                      30 paise/km for 1st AC class.
                      5 paise/km for sleeper class.
Platform tickets to cost Rs. 5
14. Express train fares increase by 3 paise/km.

So, The overall evaluation of this budget is that it has shown the safety as the main term of this budget but the railway minister has given "Zor ka Jhatka Dheere Se" to all the passengers of railway by increasing the fare.
Hope, the Indian Railway will get its highest speed in the future with all safety measures.

Thank You.
